The Philharmonic Winds Presents -- Black Pipes, in Clarinet Classics
Attention all clarinet lovers, here is a chamber concert for you!
In this special concert, clarinettist
Liang Jiayi will perform Dance Preludes by Witold Lutoslawski, and
Desmond Chow will be performing the Sonata for Clarinet and Piano F minor Op. 120 No. 1 by Johannes Brahms. They will be accompanied by Dr Zechariah Goh Toh Chai on piano.
Black Pipes – comprising Liang and Chow, together with Lim Lip Hua and Cheong Mun Hoe – will also bring a number of pieces for clarinet quartet, including:
French Suite for four Bb clarinets - Yvonne Desportes
Fugue in G minor - J.S Bach transcribed by Dennis C.Crabb
Csardas for Clarinet Quartet - Vittorio Monti arr. by Kazuhiro Morita
Quartet in F (in the form of a sonata movement) - Carl Bohm transcribed by H. Voxman
Piano Sonata in C major (Rondo) - W.A. Mozart arr. Andre Lemarc
